Each month is a role="grid" with one tab stop. Arrow keys move by a day or a week, Home and End to the week's ends.

Page Up and Page Down change the month; with Shift, the year. Enter or Space picks the day.

Each day has a full name, such as Tuesday, September 29, 2026; the chosen day has aria-selected, today aria-current="date".

The month heading is a live region, so a change of month is announced.
